- TOOELE CITY 2025 NOTICE OF ELECTION Pursuant to Utah Code 10-3-301(2)(a), Tooele City hereby gives notice of the following municipal offices to be voted on in the 2025 Municipal General Election: Mayor and two (2) City Council Members. Each office is a four-year term beginning January 2026. A primary election will be held, if necessary, on Tuesday, August 12, 2025. The general election will be held on Tuesday, November 4, 2025. A resident of Tooele City who is interested in becoming a candidate must file a Declaration of Candidacy between June 2 and June 6, 2025. Declarations must be filed in person with the City Recorder's Office at 90 North Main Street, Tooele, Utah between the hours of 8 am and 5 pm, Monday through Friday, and not later than 5 pm on June 6, 2025. There is a $50.00 filing fee for Mayor, and a $30.00 filing fee for City Council positions. Candidates must meet the following qualifications: (1) Be a registered voter of Tooele City; (2) Be a resident of Tooele City for at least one year prior to the date of the election; (3) Not be convicted of a felony, cannot have been declared mentally incompetent, or convicted of treason, or a crime against the City unless their right to hold elective office has been restored, UCA 20A-2-101.3, 20A-2-101.5.
