OFFICIAL NOTICE MUNICIPAL ELECTION
FOR SUNSET CITY
Pursuant to Section 10-3-301(2)(a) of the Utah Code, notice is hereby given that the Municipal Offices in Sunset City, Utah to be voted on in the 2025 Municipal General Election are:
- Mayor 4-year Term
- Council Member 4-year Term
- Council Member 4-year Term
A primary election will be held, if necessary, on Tuesday, August 12, 2025. The general election will be held on November 4, 2025.
The candidate filing period is between June 2, 2025, and June 6, 2025, Monday through Friday, except weekends and holidays. A Declaration of Candidacy must be filed in person from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Sunset City offices located at 200 West 1300 North, Sunset, UT 84015. A $35.00 filing fee will be collected at the time of declaration.
Candidates must meet the following qualifications:
Registered Voter in the municipality in which the individual is elected
Must have resided within the municipality for which the candidate is seeking office for the 12 consecutive months immediately before the date of the election.
Maintain a principal place of residence within the municipality, and within the district that the elected office represents, during the officer's term of office.
If the individual resides in a territory which was annexed into the municipality: must have resided within the annexed territory or the municipality the 12 consecutive months immediately before the date of the election.
Pay filing fee, if one is required by municipal ordinance.
Not convicted of a felony**
Cannot have been declared mentally incompetent.

The Sunset City will hold an election on August 12th (Primary as needed) and November 4, 2025 to elect the following offices:

If you are a military (currently deployed) or overseas citizen eligible to vote in state and local elections, you may register to vote and request a regular absentee ballot for upcoming elections.
