Notice of 2025 Municipal Election
Pursuant to Utah Code §10-3-301(2)(a), notice is hereby given that the below three offices will soon be up for re-election in the City of Taylorsville. Each term is for four years, running from January 2026 through December 2029.
Mayor
City Council Member (District No. 4 )
City Council Member (District No. 5)
The Declaration of Candidacy period runs from 8am on Monday, June 2, 2025 until 5pm on Friday, June 6, 2025 during which time interested parties must appear in person before city recorder Jamie Brooks on the 2nd floor of Taylorsville City Hall (2600 W Taylorsville Blvd).
The general election will be held on Tuesday, November 4, 2025. If necessary, a primary election will be held on Tuesday, August 12, 2025.
To Run for municipal office, You must:
Be a Registered Voter
Have lived in Taylorsville (if running for mayor) for 12 consecutive months immediately before the date of the election
Reside in the council district you seek to represent (if running for city council)
Not be a convicted felon or convicted of treason or a crime against the elective franchise unless your right to hold elective office is restored under UCA §20A-2-101.3 or UCA §20A-2-101.5.
Pay a filing fee of $100 if running for mayor, or $50 if running for city council. (Alternatively, the filing fee will be cut in half if a candidate submits a nomination petition bearing the signatures of
25 Taylorsville residents who are at least 18 years of age.)
