2025 Notice of Election The City of American Fork will hold a non-partisan municipal election to elect a mayor and two (2) council members to serve a term of four (4) years. The Primary Election (if needed) will be held on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, and the General Election will be held on Tuesday, November 4, 2025. Candidate Filing Period The Candidate Filing Period begins June 2, 2025, and ends on June 6, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. Individuals seeking to become a candidate for municipal office shall file a Declaration of Candidacy or Nomination Petition with the City Recorder at 51 East Main Street, between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. There is a $55 filing fee to be paid at the time of declaring candidacy. Candidates will also be required to fill out a Conflict-of-Interest Disclosure at the time of filing. Candidate Qualifications The qualification requirements for office are: - Must be a registered voter of American Fork City. - Must have resided in American Fork (or a recently annexed area) for the 12 consecutive months immediately before the date of election. - Must maintain a principal place of residence in American Fork. - Must not be convicted of a felony, treason, or crime against the elective franchise unless the right to hold elective office has been restored under Section 20A-2-101.3 or 20A-2-101.5, nor be declared mentally incompetent.
