a. Dustin Grabau - Grant Writer
Nancy O'Toole is a grant writer that works for Wasatch County, Heber City, and Midway City. She is paid through MAG. Should she be part of our HVTED office? The grants she is involved with are tourism and economic development. No net cost to our organization would come from the cities and the county. MAG has funding for Nancy and Don through the end of June. Nancy is asking to go up to 30 hours of work and would like $35 an hour. There is a single agreement that covers both Don and Nancy. If she was in the house, we could utilize her skills better. All entities have benefited from her work on grants. Nancy might be willing to train someone already in our office to help though special state ones that reside in our county, or the city or state would sponsor a grant for them.
MAGS does meals on wheels, senior citizens, provides regional planning support, plus many more.
Motion proposing a terms agreement. Heber City 50% Wasatch County 35% Midway City 15%

b. Luke Bodensteiner - Soldier Hollow Presentation
UCI approached Soldier Hollow to host a World Series Mountain Bike event. Soldier Hollow would take the mid-September spot in 2026. Sept 2026, 2027, 2028 Mountain Bike World Cup Monday through Monday weekend in September. Covered by Max and Turner Sports in the USA has a bigger TV presence in Europe. Most people come from Europe. Bike Fest is the only Continental Series here. 11,000 On Site Fan Attendance in 2024 expecting more in 2025. 7.6 million viewers in 2024 through broadcast. 10 million direct spending into the community through lodging etc. The average age in attendance was 38 however we can expect to have more. Park City Chamber and Utah Sports Commission are both sponsoring this event. Will have to build more features to bring it up to World Cup standards. 173 News Sources will come to the valley to report on this event. Wants to commit our sponsorship to this event.
A similar presentation was given to our TTAB board, and they feel that Soldier Hollow was a great contributor to our community. This is not for needing money now it is a soft launch for money commitment come 2026.
Suggestion is these funds come from restaurant tax to supplement and not take such a big hit to our tourism budget.
Motion to support this Scott
