PUBLIC NOTICE
CITY OF BLANDING 2025 MUNICIPAL ELECTION
Pursuant to Utah Code ยง 20A-16-502(1), Blanding City hereby provides notice that the following municipal offices are up for election in the 2025 General Election:
Mayor - 4-year term
Two City Council Seats - 4-year terms
Qualified candidates interested in filing for election must meet the eligibility requirements as outlined in Utah State law and the Blanding City Code. A person filing a declaration of candidacy for a city office must be (per Utah Code Section 20A-9-201 and 203):
A United States citizen at the time of filing;
A resident of Blanding City for the 12 consecutive months immediately preceding the date of the election (or a resident of an area recently annexed into Blanding City);
A registered voter; and
In accordance with Utah Constitution Article IV, Section 6, any mentally incompetent person, any person convicted of a felony, or any person convicted of treason or a crime against the elective franchise may not hold office in this state until the right to hold elective office is restored under Utah Code Section 20A-2-101.3 or Section 20A-2-101.5.
The filing period for candidates will begin on June 2, 2025, and will close on June 5, 2025. Blanding City office hours are Monday through Thursday from 7:30-5:30 and Friday from 7:30-11:30.
