UTILITY RATE INCREASE:
The Town of Manila recognizes the need to modify utility fees from time to time to cover the costs of the operation and maintenance of our utility systems and other expenses related to providing utility services, including debt service payments and replacement of infrastructure and equipment. We asked Rural Water Association of Utah (RWAU) to review the existing rate schedules for our utility systems, including water and sewer. Rural Water has discovered that changes in the utility rate schedules are necessary. The Mayor and Town Council have also determined that changes to the utility rate schedules are also needed to provide sufficient revenue to meet debt service costs for infrastructure improvements, as well as establish renewal and replacement funds to provide for the replacement of facilities and equipment as necessary. Janell Braithwaite, a Management Technician with RWAU, is coming to present to residents where we are currently, where we need to be, and a couple of ideas of how to get to where we need to be financially.
