Description/Agenda
The University of Utah is proposing increasing tuition between 1.75% - 5% and increasing general student fees by 1.4% for the 2025-26 school year. The tuition increase means a full-time resident undergraduate student taking 15 credit hours would pay approximately $82.44 to $235.54 more per semester. The general student fee increase is approximately $8.50 more per semester. However, if a recommendation to move four fees to tuition and eliminate one fee are approved, the current 14 fees at $601.64 total per semester will transform into nine fees at $538.35 per semester, which is a 10.5% decrease.
Separately, there are proposed tuition adjustments in the David Eccles School of Business.
The David Eccles School of Business (DESB) is proposing several changes to its tuition schedule.
- For graduate students in the Executive MBA, DESB is proposing an increase of approximately 6.9% in tuition for the 2026-27 school year. A graduate student in the Executive MBA taking 10 credit hours will pay $1,400 more per semester in the 2026-27 academic year.
- For graduate students in the Professional and Online MBA, DESB is proposing an increase of approximately 6.5% in tuition for the 2026-27 school year. A graduate student in the Professional MBA or Online MBA taking 8 credit hours will pay $800 more per semester in the 2026-27 academic year.
- For graduate students in Specialty Masters Programs and full-time MBA, DESB is proposing an increase of approximately 11.2% in tuition for the 2025-26 school year and 8% for the 2026-27 school year. A graduate student in any of the Specialty Masters Programs or full-time MBA taking 10 credit hours will pay $1,260 more per semester in the 2025-26 academic year and $1,000 more per semester in the 2026-67 academic year.
- For graduate students in Masters of Business Creation (MBC) program, DESB is proposing an increase of approximately 10% in tuition for the 2025-26 school year and 9.1% for the 2026-27 school year. A graduate student in the MBC program taking 10 credit hours will pay $500 more per semester each year in both the 2025-26 and 2026-67 academic years.
The College of Nursing is proposing a differential tuition increase to replace program fees for nursing undergraduate courses beginning with the 2025-26 academic year. Currently, nursing prelicensure students pay a $243.50 program fee/semester for four semesters and differential tuition of $106.35/credit hour for 60 credits. The college is proposing to increase tuition differential to $126/credit hour and to eliminate the program fee.
The College of Science is proposing a differential tuition increase of $25 per student credit hour, from $60 to $85 per credit hour.
