Welcome and Introductions (Greg Ostrander) Review and Approval of Minutes from January 13, 2025 (All) Charter Updates and UCSB Comprehensive Review (Greg Ostrander and Deborah Candler) Discuss creation of Facilities Committee (Deborah Candler) Looking at all Capital Improvement needs. Prioritizing projects and making recommendations for budget allocations. Policy updates (vote expected) (Amy Yuda) a. Plan for College and Career Readiness Implementation b. Supervision of Students in School Sponsored Activities c. Absenteeism and Truancy Prevention d. Discipline and Intervention Policies (includes State Requirement for Prohibition of Corporal Punishment.) e. Head Injury Policy f. Searching Students for Controlled Substances and Weapons g. Youth Protection h. Elementary and SEcondary School General Core Policy i. Health and Welfare Policy j. School Materials: Sensitive Materials in Schools Policy, Supplemental Materials, Selection and Purchase of Instructional Materials Policy. k. Principal's Report (Deborah Candler) a. Hiring update b. Admissions update 9. Finance Report (Nicole Laird) 10. Annual Campaign Update (Katy Andrews) 11. Housekeeping: June Board Retreat Date Change - from 6/17 to 6/24. 12. Requests to Speak* *Requests to Speak Persons requesting to speak to the Governing Board in an open meeting need to sign up prior to the start of the open session of the board meeting, by emailing Greg Ostrander at greg.ostrander@slarts.org. Resolution of questions or responses to proposals should not be expected at this meeting; staff or others may be asked to research and/or prepare materials and solutions for a later time. Up to fifteen minutes in total will be scheduled for persons requesting to speak. Three minutes will be allotted for individual requests and five minutes will be allotted for group requests. If we receive more requests than the allotted time permits, those requests may be scheduled for the next board meeting. Your concerns may be submitted in writing to the principal's office for distribution to the Governing Board at any time.
