- The State of Utah DHHS and Local Public Health Governance Committee Meeting Approve Minutes: February 3rd, 2025 Grant Title Executive Committee Review Description Strengthening Vaccine-Preventable Disease Prevention and Response In Attendance: Rich Lakin Period: 8/1/25 to 6/30/26 Application Due: 3/13/25 $ 4,100,640 Grant Status: Needs Review IPHS Exec (February 6th): Immunization 5-year cooperative agreement (lead: Rich Lakin). A motion was made and passed for the cooperative agreement application to move forward to the Governance Committee with a favorable recommendation as proposed, which included a 10% cut that will be applied equally across DHHS and LHD contracts. The funding amount for this year is year one for a 5-year grant. This is a 5-year grant with new funding and workplans each year. Funding begins July 1, 2025, and runs through June 30, 2026. Funding levels were provided to us via VFC camp, the immunization cooperative agreement application tool. Rules Review/Discussion: Rule # Rule Name Topic Other Agenda Items: Other Agenda Topic Discussion Includes Notes Disease Plans: Other Agenda Topic Discussion Includes Notes Updates to the gonorrhea and syphilis disease investigation forms Melissa Stevens Dimond This is an item for visibility only - we reviewed a request to update the gonorrhea and syphilis disease investigation forms to align with requirements of HB261; a motion was made and unanimously passed to accept the requested changes. This will now go into disease plan workflow 2 to be completed. Exempt Grants (These grants have been labeled as exempt during the past two weeks): Grant Name Application Due Description Enhancing timely data reporting, quality, and use in early hearing detection and intervention (EHDI) surveillance 3/6/2025 IPHS Exec (February 6th): Early Hearing Detection and Intervention (EDDI) grant (lead: Stephanie McVicar). A motion was made and passed to move the grant forward with a recommendation to classify it as an exempt grant. Next Governance Meeting: March 3rd, 2025
