Description/Agenda
Mount Pleasant City will hold a public hearing to discuss and decide on the implementation of a new metering system and related technologies. The current metering system, Landis+Gyr PLX, is being discontinued, and no new meters have been available for order since 2024.
As of March 2024, Mount Pleasant Power solicited bids for new metering systems, receiving six proposals. After thorough evaluations-including studies, multiple meetings, and careful consideration of customer needs and local topography-Mount Pleasant Power has selected the Aclara TWACS system to replace the current PLC (Power Line Carrier) system.
Reason for Selection:
The Aclara TWACS system is compatible with Mount Pleasant's terrain and offers reliable performance using the existing PLC technology.
It ensures ease of use and efficient operations across the service area.
