Date of Meeting: Tuesday 1/21/25 Venue: OSTA - Conference Room Time: 5:30pm to 6:30pm Call to Order/Open Meeting: Approval of minutes: November 12, 2024 Citizens to be heard: OSTA Assistant Director Report (Reported by Greg): Staff Update - Staff has been utilizing the last couple of months and sharing some much-needed time off. Angie will be working remotely for the remainder of the month while handling some personal affairs. IAFE Conference - Angie, Greg & Mackenzie travelled to Phoenix the beginning of December to attend the IAFE Conference for the Grand County Fair. The League of Agricultural & Equine Center Footing Academy & Symposium - Angie, Greg & Tyler attended and completed Footing Academy FA101 Admin Office Update & Status Completion of Maintenance Technician Shop/Break room in #6 Gravel added to the entrance of the soccer field from the entrance of the sport's complex road. Also added decorative rock behind tree and retaining wall. The Stage was cleaned with maintenance, winterized and has been stored for winter. Installation of two additional bubble safety mirrors in the main arena. Painting of Door Trim in the Main Arena Completion of foam insulation project in the Main Arena Rock retaining wall in admin parking lot OSTA Director Report (Angie): *Angie will not be in attendance, Greg giving full report. Projects that we are currently working on Received shipment for our panel order. With this order we will be able to rebuild the warm-up arena at the north end along with building pens coming off Barn H. We will also begin refurbishing Barn H. Once complete this barn will be dedicated to 4-H (Angie to give full report on this in February). This order will also be providing fencing at the entry point from the parking lot to the barns. A stripping chute for the outdoor arena was included in this order and will be installed. We will also be able to create a quarantine area on the property, which will be strictly dedicated for quarantine use only. D's Adventures. Private Birthday Party (Indoor Arena). December- Canyonlands PRCA Rodeo Meeting, Rec Board meeting & special meeting (Conf. Room), Redpoint Rescue rig practice for training (Pavilion), EMS Training (Indoor Arena), Open Ride (Indoor & Outdoor arena's - multiple dates), Equestrian Community Night (obstacle course, barrels, poles), Community Indoor Soccer Night. D's Adventures. January- Canyonlands PRCA Rodeo Meeting, Rec Board meeting (Conf. Room), Open Ride (Indoor & Outdoor arena's - multiple dates), Equestrian Community Night (obstacle course, barrels, poles), Community Indoor Soccer Night, 4H Horsemanship/Livestock meetings, Red Point Rescue Rig Practice, D's Adventures, PRCA Rodeo Queen Clinic and Practice. February- Canyonlands PRCA Rodeo Meeting, Rec Board meeting (Conf. Room), Open Ride (Indoor & Outdoor arena's - multiple dates), Equestrian Community Night (obstacle course, barrels, poles), Community Indoor Soccer Night, 4H Horsemanship/Livestock meetings, D's Adventures, PRCA Rodeo Queen Clinic and Practice, PRCA Drill Team Practice, Young Guns Rodeo Co. Not to be forgotten, will discuss when updates are available: World Trail (need design+ sponsors / donation) Trail to be formalized by arena staff by adding reject gravel +Horse Obstacle Course Outdoor Arena - Maintenance and construction upgrade stage 1 of 3 (1 arena completed, 2 roping boxes & steer run completed, 3 Cover over arena, lights, bleachers, announcer's booth, wind breaks, and bucking chutes) 'Growing Pains' Need to source funding, out growing current set-up. Need more pens for rough stock, holding pen for broncs, additional pens at main arena. Implement Shed- Convention/Expo Hall- OSTA Development Master Plan- Board Member Reports: Kathy- Rex- Patrick- Bob- Krista- Jennifer- Mike- New Business: By-Laws (If available) - On Hold - Comm Admin are working on these.
