The Utah Board of Oil, Gas and Mining meets Wednesday, January 22 at 9 a.m. at the Department of Natural Resources building at 1594 West North Temple in Salt Lake City. Division of Oil, Gas and Mining staff will conduct a briefing session at 9 a.m.: 1. Board process update 2. Update on board member vacancies 3. Status of oil and gas bonding rule 4. Legislative update 5. Other 6. Next month's agenda and division calendar 7. Opportunity for public comment Board members will hear the following matters after the briefing session: 1. Docket No. 2025-002 Cause No. 132-66 - In the Matter of the Request for Agency Action of OVINTIV USA INC. for an order pooling interests, including the compulsory pooling of the interests of certain non-consenting owners in the Beal UT 13-34 4-3-3-10-7H Well, in the drilling unit established for the production of oil, gas and associated hydrocarbons from the Lower Green River-Wasatch Formations comprised of all of Sections 3 and 10, Township 4 South, Range 3 West, U.S.M., Duchesne County, Utah. (The board will consider the recommended findings of fact and conclusions of law generated by the hearing examiner from the proceeding on January 15, 2025.) 2. Docket No. 2025-003 Cause No. 132-67 - In the Matter of the Request for Agency Action of OVINTIV USA INC. for an order pooling interests, including the compulsory pooling of the interests of certain non-consenting owners in the Spear UT 4-26 3-2-26-35-17H Well, in the drilling unit established for the production of oil, gas and associated hydrocarbons from the Lower Green River-Wasatch Formations comprised of all of Sections 26 and 35, Township 3 South, Range 2 West, U.S.M., Duchesne County, Utah. (The board will consider the recommended findings of fact and conclusions of law generated by the hearing examiner from the proceeding on January 15, 2025.) 3. Docket No. 2025-008 Cause No. 132-70 - In the Matter of the Request for Agency Action of OVINTIV USA INC. for an order pooling interests, including the compulsory pooling of the interests of certain non-consenting owners in the Mamie UT 4-25 3-3-25-36-46H Well identified herein, in the drilling unit established for the production of oil, gas and associated hydrocarbons from the Lower Green River-Wasatch Formations comprised of all of Sections 25 and 36 Township 3 South, Range 3 West, U.S.M., Duchesne County, Utah. (The board will consider the recommended findings of fact and conclusions of law generated by the hearing examiner from the proceeding on January 15, 2025.) 4. Docket No. 2025-010 Cause No. 132-71 - In the Matter of the Request for Agency Action of OVINTIV USA INC. for an order pooling interests, including the compulsory pooling of the interests of certain non-consenting owners in the Pekepovits UT 1-14 4-3-11-2-1H Well, in the drilling unit established for the production of oil, gas and associated hydrocarbons from the Lower Green River-Wasatch Formations comprised of all of Sections 2 and 11, Township 4 South, Range 3 West, U.S.M., Duchesne County, Utah. (The board will consider the recommended findings of fact and conclusions of law generated by the hearing examiner from the proceeding on January 15, 2025.) 5. Docket No. 2024-054 Cause No. C0250005-COCH07132024 - In the matter of ALTON COAL DEVELOPMENT, LLC's First Amended Petition for Review of Cessation Order CH07132024 Coal Hollow Mine, Kane County, Utah. (This matter was continued from the December 4, 2024, board hearing.) 6. Docket No. 2024-064 Cause No. 075-04 - In the Matter of the Request for Agency Action of COASTAL PLAINS ENERGY, INC., for an order suspending application of the Board's Orders in Cause Nos. 243-1 and 243-4 insofar as they pertain to Section 15, Section 16, the NE1/4 of Section 21, Section 22, the S1/2 of Section 23, and the N1/2 of Section 27 of Township 15 South, Range 9 East, SLM, Carbon County, Utah. (This matter was continued from the December 4, 2024, board hearing.) 7. Docket No. 2025-004 Cause No. 132-68 - In the Matter of the Request for Agency Action of SM ENERGY COMPANY for an order pooling interests, including the compulsory pooling of the interests of certain non-consenting and unknown owners, within a 2,560-acre (or substantial equivalent) drilling unit established for the production of oil, gas and associated hydrocarbons from the Lower Green River-Wasatch (Colton) Formations comprised of Sections 13, 14, 23 and 24, Township 2 South, Range 3 West, U.S.M., Duchesne County, Utah 8. Docket No. 2025-005 Cause No. 132-69 - In the Matter of the Request for Agency Action of SM ENERGY COMPANY for an order pooling interests, including the compulsory pooling of the interests of certain non-consenting and unknown owners, within a 1,280-acre (or substantial equivalent) drilling unit established for the production of oil, gas and associated hydrocarbons from the Lower Green River-Wasatch (Colton) Formations, comprised of Sections 13 and 14, Township 2 South, Range 3 West, U.S.M., Duchesne County, Utah 9. Docket No. 2025-006 Cause No. 470-14 - In the Matter of the Request for Agency Action of ANSCHUTZ EXPLORATION CORPORATION for an order establishing four (4) special 1,280-acre (or substantially equivalent) stand-up drilling units for the production of oil, gas and associated hydrocarbons from the Lower Mancos Formation, comprised of: (1) Section 32, T12S, R22S, and Section 5, T13S, R22E; (2) Sections 8 and 17, T13S, R22E; (3) Sections 9 and 16, T12S, R23E; and (4) Sections 27 and 34, T7S, R25E, respectively, all S.L.M., Uintah County, Utah, and to allow, on a pilot basis, the drilling and production of up to six (6) long lateral horizontal wells on each special drilling unit so established 10. Docket No. 2025-007 Cause No. 470-15 - In the Matter of the Request for Agency Action of UINTA WAX OPERATING, LLC for an order modifying and partially vacating the Board's order entered in Cause No. 470-07 to: (1) Re-establish the drilling units for production of oil, gas and associated hydrocarbon from the Lower Green River-Wasatch Formations through long lateral horizontal wells comprised of: (a) all of Sections 11 and 14, T4S, R2E, U.S.M.; (b) Section 2, T4S, R2E, U.S.M., and Section 35, T3S, R2E, U.S.M.; and (c) Sections 23 and 26, T3S, R2E, U.S.M., as originally provided under the Board's order entered in Cause No. 131-151; and (2) eliminate the drilling unit boundary well drilling units and any special drilling units established thereunder inclusive of said lands to the extent inconsistent with the foregoing, all located in Uintah County, Utah.
