NOTICE OF
PUBLIC HEARING
Notice is hereby given that a Public Hearing will be held Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at 12:45 PM in the Rich County Courthouse, 20 S. Main Street in Randolph. The Rich County Board of Commissioners is considering enacting an ordinance entitled Rich County Ordinance for Building Permits and Certificates of Occupancy. A copy of this proposed ordinance can be obtained by contacting the Rich County Clerk, Anneliesa Peart at (435) 793-2415.
This proposed ordinance would establish a procedure for obtaining a building permit in unincorporated Rich County. A building permit would be valid for 18 months and can be renewed for additional six-month extensions upon (1) an inspection and (2) payment of a renewal fee ($100 for timely renewals and up to $500 for renewals 90 days late). The proposed ordinance also would require a $2,000 refundable building permit deposit. The deposit would be fully refunded after the final inspection and issuance of the Certificate of Occupancy. The deposit would be forfeited if the building is occupied prior to the occupancy permit or if the permit expires (including the renewal period) without a final inspection.
The Board of Commissioners is soliciting the public's comments on the proposed ordinance. Those attending the hearing will be invited to provide their input. Those wishing to comment, but who are unable to attend the hearing may also submit written comments to the Rich County Clerk prior to the hearing.
