Wellington City Planning and Zoning Minutes Meeting held Wednesday, October 2, 2024 at the Wellington City Hall Located at 150 West Main Street, Wellington, Utah at 5:30 P.M. Present: Commissioner Patterson, Commissioner Cha, Commissioner Zauss, Commissioner Clendennen Absent: Commissioner Moosman, Commissioner McKinnon City Staff: None Attendees: None Agenda Item #1 Roll Call Planning and zoning waited for all commissioners to arrive. Commissioner Clendennen texted Commissioner McKinnon to find out when he would arrive. Commissioner McKinnon wasn't going to make it. The Planning and Zoning Commissioner Cha opened the meeting at 5:45 PM by noting that everyone was present except for Commissioner Moosman and Commissioner McKinnon. Agenda Item #2 Approval of Prior Meeting Minutes Motion: Commissioner Cha moved to approve the minutes from September 4, 2024. Motion seconded by Commissioner Patterson and carried with all in favor. Agenda Item #3 Troy Trolin - Airbnb at 739 Ash Street Troy Trolin was not present. Commission discussed the necessity of having a business license for the Airbnb. It was agreed that a business license would be required. Motion: No motion made Agenda Item #4 City Council meeting with P&Z on job descriptions. Discussion about Wellington City Council (Councilmen McKinnon and Zauss in attendance) appointing the following people to the Planning and Zoning board: Larry McKinnon Barney Zauss Barbara Clendennen Commissioner Cha is 1 1/2 years into his current term. Commissioner Patterson is 2 1/2 years into his current term. Commissioner Moosman was not in attendance; therefore we do not have his information. Commissioners Zauss, Clendennen and McKinnon started their terms October 2, 2024. Thereby filling the two (2) vacancies and Commissioner McKinnon (Chairperson) resignation. Description of Duties: Advisory authority to the City Council only. Advising any potentially new ordinances, such as: tiny homes, conex box structures, food truck/commissary stations. Appoint someone to follow up on items such as: Johnson's fence on 1st S - can't see around corner and has an 8 to 10' fence around residence, VW Bug junk yard - has a conditional use permit but didn't build the fence. Find out about potential businesses; Auto and personal property sales business (1st crossing @ railroad tracks, sheds sitting with for sale signs across from city hall. Find out where the conditional use permits are to review and reconcile w/property/business owners. Find out if all businesses have business licenses and are in compliance with fire code and building ordinances. Motion: Commissioner Patterson nominates Commissioner Cha as chairperson. Commissioner Zauss seconded. All in favor. None opposed. Agenda Item #5 City Council Follow Up. No follow up. Motion: No motion made. Adjourn Meeting adjourned at 6:36 pm. Motion: Commissioner Patterson motioned to adjourn. Commissioner Clendennen seconds. All in favor. None opposed. Next meeting will be December 4, 2024, at 5:30 P.M. at the Wellington City Hall. Minutes approved by Planning and Zoning on November 6, 2024
