NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
The Tropic Town Council will hold a Public Hearing on November 6, 2024 at 6 pm at Tropic Heritage Center, to consider and adopt proposed changes to Town Ordinance 13.8.5.2 - Recreational Vehicles.
Proposed Amendment:
The proposed changes would allow water and sewer hookups for recreational vehicles (trailers) on private property, subject to compliance with local health and safety regulations, and would establish guidelines for temporary use and occupancy of trailers on private property.
The current ordinance prohibits the use of recreational vehicles for permanent living purposes except in approved and licensed RV parks or under conditional use for specific commercial zoning purposes. The proposed amendment would allow:
Temporary water and sewer connections for recreational vehicles.
The ability for property owners to apply for a temporary occupancy permit for up to 180 days per year.
Conditional use permits for extended stays beyond 180 days.
Public Participation:
All interested persons are invited to attend and provide comments. Written comments may also be submitted to the Town Clerk's office at 20 N Main, Tropic, Utah 84776 prior to the hearing.
Copies of the proposed ordinance changes are available for public review at the Town Clerk's office during regular business hours.
