Meeting opened by Mayor Nelson and the invocation o ered by Jared Jeppsen. Pledge of allegiance - led by Mayor Nelson followed by all in attendance.
Meeting minutes held on August 15th, 2024 (Approved, vote: 5-0) Consideration to pay the bills:

Dakota Midkiff:
The establishment of the Community Service Officer Program (CSOP)
The council convened to discuss the establishment of a Community Service Officer Program (CSOP) aimed at fostering better interactions between the police and the community during town events, such as parades and emergencies.
Under this program, Community Service Officers (CSOs) will serve as volunteers, providing assistance to law enforcement without holding any law enforcement powers themselves.
The town will supply high-visibility vests to the volunteers, while those interested may purchase uniform shirts if they choose.
Equipment will be distributed on a temporary basis as needed. The policies governing the program will be crafted by the Mantua Police Department, covering important aspects such as liability and the requirements for volunteers.

Karen Nelson made a motion that the town will not sponsor nor create the neighbood watch association (NWA) but is open to the possibility if the citizen would like to create an NWA, Matt Jeppsen seconded.

Kris Enos - Custom Laser Burns LLC

He mentions that the only scent present is that of burnt wood, and there are no issues with parking or excessive noise. Additionally, Enos personally buys the items he customizes in-store, eliminating the need for deliveries.
