The mission of the Summit County Public Art Advisory Board is to celebrate and unite Summit County residents through public art. Program projects are aligned with County Core Areas of transportation, environmental sustainability and economic diversity. BOARD DISCUSSION AND ACTION ITEMS a) SC Fair County Purchase Update+Discussion- Thea Henney (5 minutes) Please see the images attached in the Board Packet of the County's Purchase Awards for the 2024 Summit County Fair Fine Art Exhibit. The Adult Award winning artwork will hang in the Coalville Courthouse; we can discuss possible locations for the Youth Award winning artwork. b) Washakie Exhibit Update-Thea Henney (5 minutes) Lucie Washakie is interested in participating and having her granddaughter dance. NaVee Vernon is likely to attend and have copies of her book about Chief Washakie. Kamas Library November 1 - January 3 (Grand Opening on Monday, Nov. 18 from 5:00-7:00 p.m.) Kimball Junction Library January 3 - March 7 Coalville March 7 - May 9 (Final Location TBD) c) Roundabout Project Update-Thea Henney (5 minutes) Here is an excerpt from an email from Don & Lisa about their progress: 'In terms of an update on the roundabout, we expect to have our stamped engineered documents for the Moose very soon. We have had several meetings with the engineers at Rbhu engineers who specialize in monumental artwork. Our last meeting earlier this month was the final fine tuning for the structural design.' d) Favorite Public Art Piece Presentation - Lisa Bedell (5 minutes) i) 9th & 9th Whale in Salt Lake City (see attached images) ii) Select presenter for next meeting 5.
