PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
MINUTES: Minutes were read for the October meeting. Marty motioned to accept them as read, Doug 2nd the motion. All were in favor.
MAYOR UPDATES: The mayor was absent but sent mayor updates that are attached to these minutes. They were read by Troy and discussed by the council
-An update on the new water meters installed & mobile app to monitor usage.
With the new water meters there is a monthly fee for the cellular endpoints to read the meters. Some customers request their water meter to be turned off when they are not here for a time. -The mayor wanted input on if there should be a fee charged to those customers, allowing the town to continue collecting a basic fee to cover the cellular subscription tied to that meter. Doug said there used to be a fee of $60.00 a year from customers to cover any additional costs for water meters and their upkeep.
Marty made a motion to charge $2.50 a month for those meters. Doug seconded the motion.
-The mayor would also like input from the council on what is considered an abandoned water meter, and should there be a fee from the customer to maintain the rights to the meter for upkeep and record keeping? The council tabled the discussion until more input is available.
-The Mayor has been in contact with Kelly from Ensign concerning the Cold Springs project.
-Alder Lane Access Project will be presented at the next meeting by Kelly Crane.
-The town is currently working through several grants to make progress on upgrades to the park, the playground equipment, and trees.
-The lead and copper survey is due in October. The council may need to go door to door next week to finish this inventory to be compliant. Marty has contacted the majority of them, and said he will finish the rest.
-The PC is wondering if the council would like them to proceed with the fence ordinance. They will be meeting next Monday the 16th to discuss the fence ordinance and a Tiny Home ordinance. The mayor did meet with the PC on the fence ordinance to touch base with them.
Marty motioned to adjourn the meeting Doug seconded the motion.
