1. STUDY SESSION - OPEN MEETING - 4:00 p.m.
The Board may engage in discussion, provide administrative direction, or take other action on any of the study session agenda items listed below.
A. Jordan School District Participation in Salt Lake County Multijurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan
Mr. Scott Thomas, Administrator of Auxiliary Services
Mr. Ian Roberts, Facility Capital Outlay Projects, Facility Services
Information on participating with Salt Lake County in an agreement for a Hazard Mitigation Plan as required by the Utah Division of Emergency Management (DEM) and Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA)for emergency grants in the event of a disaster.
Desired outcome: Board members will receive information and consider authorization to participate in a plan with Salt Lake County.
B. Renewal of Universal Reading Screener for Grades 7-12
Ms. Carolyn Gough, Administrator of Teaching & Learning
Ms. Brandee Bergum, Consultant, Teaching & Learning
Information and discussion on a universal screener as an assessment used to identify students struggling with reading.
Desired outcome: Board members will receive information to begin the assessment review process.
C. Proposed Changes to Administrative Policy AA440 Library Media Selection and Review

Continued discussion on potential changes to policy AA440 Library Media Selection and Review.
Desired outcome: Board members will hold discussion and give direction to staff on proposed revisions.
D. Overview of District Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) Efforts

E. Cell Phone Policy

Continued discussion on a proposed districtwide cell phone policy for Jordan School District with a review of policy drafts as requested by Board members.
Desired outcome: Board members will hold discussion on the proposed policy drafts with direction to staff on next steps.
F. School Garden Program
Mr. Bryce Dunford, Board Member
Discussion on supporting a potential garden program at schools.
Desired outcome: Board members will consider whether to pursue a school garden program with direction to staff on next steps, if needed.
