The mission of the Summit County Public Art Advisory Board is to celebrate and unite Summit County residents through public art. Program projects are aligned with County Core Areas of transportation, environmental sustainability and economic diversity. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: August 6th & August 30, 2024 Changes: Approved: 3. CONFIRM ATTENDANCE/QUORUM October 31st, 2024 SCPAAB Meeting Attend: Absent: 4. BOARD DISCUSSION AND ACTION ITEMS Welcome New & Returning Board Members- Thea Henney (5 minutes) Washakie Exhibit Planning Update-Jocelyn Scudder (25 minutes) Discuss possible exhibit locations, curator, opening event, and timing Washakie Exhibit proposed dates Kamas Library: Exhibit Nov. 1 - Jan. 3 Nov. 18th grand opening party- save the date! Kimball Junction Library: Jan. 6 - March 7 Coalville Library (possibly Ledges or another space in Coalville): March 9 - May 9 If necessary, vote to move forward with exhibit plan Upcoming Meetings - Thea Henney (5 minutes) Oct. 1: Conflicts with mandatory nonprofit Live PC Give PC meeting Nov. 5: Election Day Discuss and vote to reschedule and/or cancel the October and November meeting dates. Upcoming Signage for Ledges and Hoytsville - Thea Henney (5 minutes) The Ledges sculpture will have a durable poly-material didactic with an artist statement that gives context for the piece, as well as photographs documenting the installation process, It will include a 'do not climb' sign to be posted next to the artwork. The Hoytsville mural will have an engraved steel didactic with a legend for the different animals, plants, people, and sites depicted and a statement about the creation of the mural.
