Portage Planning Commission Meeting Wednesday, June5, 2024 Portage Town Hall 25880 N 9000 W Portage, Utah 84331 Town Minutes Attendance:Councilmember Terra Bell, Commissioner Chelsie Nelson, Commissioner Richard Beck, Commissioner Laura Nelson,Commissioner Jennifer Richards, Clerk Gina Marble Visitors:Mayor Max Huggins, Martina John, Susan Bell, Norma Lesa, Aaron Grundvig, Mrs.Beck, Todd Gibbs, Amanda Loftiss, Councilmember Bell called the meeting to order. Opening Ceremony Pledge:Commissioner Laura Nelson Prayer: Commissioner Chelsie Nelson Public comment-Mayor Huggins reported the planning commission has approved Wadmen's subdivision, but they never got a plat map; they will go to the town council next Wednesday. Review and approve minutes of the May1, 2024 Planning Commission. I'll make a motion to approve the minutes from May 1, 2024by Commissioner Chelsie Nelson.Seconded by Commissioner Richard. All aye. Motion approves. 3. Todd Gibbs presented his two-lot subdivision to the planning commission. Todd explained that he is splitting a couple of lots off by my mom's and our house. Approx. 26000 north. I'll make a motion to approve and recommend the Todd Gibbs subdivision to the Town Council by Commissioner Chelsie Nelson. Seconded by Commissioner Beck. All aye. Motion approves. 4.Aaron Grundvig-Building lot-Aaron reported that he is still trying to figure out what he is doing with a shed. With the cost, we will do a 200-square-foot addition with no electrical. Your code does not mention additions. Commissioner Laura Nelson stated that in the future, I think any additions should require a minimal inspection. 5. Jen Smith-Town regulations-Commissioner Smith was not present. 6. Standing agenda items-Commissioner Laura Nelson stated that the general plan is a lot like boilerplate from other towns, and we should look at that. We want a small-town atmosphere, so we should clarify that a little bit, have a public hearing, and have it defined by the community. I'll make a motion to adjourn by Councilmember Bell. Seconded by Commissioner Chelsie Nelson. All aye. Motion approves.
