FAYETTE TOWN COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES
WEDNESDAY, APRIL 10, 2024
LOCATED AT FAYETTE TOWN HALL AT 7PM

CALL TO ORDER: 7:02PM
ROLL CALL: JED BARTHOLOMEW, MAYOR, MELISSA MELLOR, BRYAN LYMAN, KEITH BARTHOLOMEW, RUSTY JONES
PRAYER : MELISSA MELLOR
1) REVIEW MINUTES: Melissa made the motion to accept the Minutes. Keith seconded the motion. The Minutes were passed.
2) REVIEW EXPENDITURES: Melissa made the motion to accept the Minutes. Bryan seconded the motion. The Expenditures passed.
3) CARLA MELLOR WOULD LIKE TO ADDRESS THE COUNCIL: Carla and Margene are helping the Gunnison Coalition with their Family Fun day this year. They would need $250 from Fayette for the booth that the do. Bryan made the Motion to donate $250 to the Gunnison Coalition for their Activity. Melissa seconded the motion. The motion passed.
4) BREANNE' S JOB AT TOWN HALL-JULIE SCHOONOVER WOULD LIKE THE JOB:
Julie Schoonover has applied for the job of cleaning the Town Hall. Julie was present and the Council talked to her about her wanting the job. She said she was willing to do the work and would enjoy working here. Bryan made the motion to hire Julie Schoonover to clean the Town Hall. Melissa seconds the motion. The motion passed. Julie was hired.
5) PART-TIME JOB AT THE PARK AND MOW LAWNS:
MASON LYMAN, CAMDEN MASHEK, CYNTHIA ANDERSON, KEVIN OAKS, WASHINGTON SILVEIRA WOULD LIKE TO APPLY: Mason Lyman and Washington Silveira were in attendance. Mason would like to still do our lawn and park. Washington said he didn't mind doing the lawn and park also. Jed said that we would like Washington to help us with some work around the Town and let Mason continue to do his job of mowing the lawns. If we need to have help with the lawn and park Washington could step in to help. The Council agreed with that situation. Rusty made the motion to hire Washington for a handyman around Town for $17 an hour. Bryan seconded the motion. The motion passed. Washinton will help around Town. Melissa made the motion to hire Mason to continue his job of mowing the lawn for $17 a time and cleaning the park for $10 an hour. Keith seconded the motion. Bryan abstained from the vote. The motion passed. Mason will continue his job at the Town.
6) HOSPITAL POSITION: Jed turned in the names that we talked about to take the position on the Hospital Board. The Hospital has chosen Dani Taylor to fill LaMar Bartholomew's position.
7) WOODCHIPS AT THE PARK NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED: Jed found out that he can get a truck load of wood chips for the park for $2200 for 128 yards, from K&D Forest Products in Panquich. We could see if they can deliver during Town clean-up and everyone can help. Keith made the motion to get the woodchips from K&D Forest Products for $2200. Melissa seconded the motion. The motion passed.
8) SUBDIVISION CODE HAS TO BE ADDRESSED: There was a law passed in March of 2023 that we had to have a Subdivison plan in all Town's and Cities by December 2024. We can get Sunrise to do this for us or we can choose someone else. Bryan made the motion to go with Sunrise to do this plan. Melissa seconded the motion. The motion passed. The P&Z Committee needs to also talk about this plan.
9) MEMORIAL DAY PLANS: Our plans for the Memorial Day program are coming along great. We need to make sure the Cemetery looks nice and clean for that day. The program will start at 9AM. We also need to advertise this so people know that we plan to do a program on Memorial Day. Contact the newspaper and post in post office.
10) APRIL 21-28 IS CLEAN-UP DAYS IN FAYETTE WITH BBQ ON THE 27TH : Our Spring clean-up is coming soon. The 27th is our BBQ for the Town for helping us clean the Town. There are groups helping clean alongside the road and the Young Men and the Young women will be doing service work around the Town. Lunch will be served in the Park. Hamburgers and Hot Dogs with chips and cookies.
11) ROCKY MOUNTAIN WILL DO FIRE AND POSSIBLY LANDFILL? Not known yet. At the fire meeting they mentioned that more volunteers are needed. Please let people know.
12) WATER REPORT: The water is doing good. We need to contact Brad to get him going on his water certificate.
13) P&Z REPORT: Nate and Meghan Richardson want to build a fence in their backyard. They just bought a home in Fayette.
CITIZEN'S CONCERNS:
The door stop at the Post Office door needs to be removed before someone trips and falls on it.
TOWN COUNCIL ITEMS:
The Council members need to do their yearly training online. Jed will send out the link. Bring certificate to Kathi.
Kade will do the dirt in front of Ryan's fence.
The Vet talked about setting up one day for a clinic to do all shots. We will tell him yes we would like that.
