Fayette Town 90 South 100 East HC 13 Box 300564 Fayette Utah 84630 Phone 435-528-5882 E-mail: fayette5882@gmail.com FAYETTE TOWN COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES THURSDAY, MAY 2, 2024 LOCATED AT FAYETTE TOWN HALL AT 7PM FACILITATED BY MAYOR JED BARTHOLOMEW CALL TO ORDER: 7:03PM ROLL CALL: JED BARTHOLOMEW, MAYOR, RUSTY JONES, KEITH BARTHOLOMEW, MELISSA MELLOR, BRYAN (WAS SICK) PRAYER: JED BARTHOLOMEW 1) REVIEW MINUTES: Rusty made the motion to accept the Minutes. Melissa seconded the motion. The Minutes passed. 2) REVIEW EXPENDITURE: Rusty made the motion to accept the Expenditures. Melissa seconded the motion. The Expenditures passed. 3) DISCUSS THE FLAGS GOING ON REBAR INSTEAD OF THE POLES: The Council have decided to put our Flags on Rebar and PVC pipes in the ground by the power poles. We will need to purchase PVC pipe. Rusty will do the project. Rusty made the motion to buy the rebar and PVC pipe not to exceed $500. Melissa seconded the motion. The Motion passed. 4) TALK ABOUT THE GRANT APPLICATION FOR THE WATER SITUATION AND THE GENERATOR: Cade Penney was present at the meeting to address some items. Fayette was approved for a CIB loan for our water project, so we will start the process and submit it by June 1st. We might check with CBDG for our generator that we need for the water tanks. Cade also mentioned that they have a new building that is opening on May 15th and all are invited to come for the Open House. May 21st is also a meeting and party for them. 5) DISCUSS THE SPRING SANITARY INSPECTION RESULTS: We need to get a Generator for the Water tanks. We can store the Generator at the Town Hall. They talked about how we can clear our points. Backflow prevention and Inspection annually. 6) DISCUSS THE WATER AUTHORITY ORDINANCE STATEMENT: We need an Ordinance and we will look at that and adopt it at the June meeting. 7) WATER REPORT: We have plenty of water storage and tanks. We need a cyber protection for our SCADA Project. We need to change the locks at the Spring, so Jed will get the locks. We need to find the valves around town and we are going to get some help in finding them and then marking them so we know where they are. Replace the lights and get a back-up generator. 8) HOW IS THE MEMORIAL DAY PROGRAM GOING? We are prepared and ready. We need to post posters at the Post office and the Town Hall. 9) CAN WE BUY NEW POTS FOR OUR FLOWERS THIS YEAR? Yes, we can get new pots for the Town Hall. Melissa made the motion to purchase new pots for flowers. Rusty seconded the motion. The motion passed. 10) P&Z REPORT: The Planning and Zoning Committee has addressed the issue of the fence by the new people in Town. The Animal control person was a little worried about what kind of dog they had. Is it really a Guard dog or just a bigger dog? CITIZEN'S CONCERNS: No concerns from Citizen's TOWN COUNCIL ITEMS: JED BARTHOLOMEW, MAYOR: Office, Cemetery, Grants BRYAN LYMAN: P&Z, Park, Weeds MELISSA MELLOR: Newsletter, Animal Control, Water RUSTY JONES: Cemetery, Website, Flags KEITH BARTHOLOMEW: Emergency Preparedness, Celebrations, Fire ADJOURNMENT OF TOWN MEETING: Melissa made the motion to close the meeting. Rusty seconded the motion. The motion was passed.
