FAYETTE TOWN COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES
THURSDAY JUNE 6, 2024
LOCATED AT FAYETTE TOWN HALL AT 7PM
FACILITATED BY MAYOR JED BARTHOLOMEW
CALL TO ORDER: 7:23pm
ROLL CALL: Jed Bartholomew, Mayor, Bryan Lyman, Keith Bartholomew, Rusty Jones (called in)
PRAYER: Keith Bartholomew
1) REVIEW MINUTES: Bryan made the motion to accept the minutes. Keith seconded the motion. Motion passed.
2) REVIEW EXPENDITURES: Bryan made the motion to accept the expenditures.
Keith seconded the motion. Motion passed.
3) THE ORDINANCES: BACKFLOW AND AUTHORITATIVE STATEMENT: There are 2 ordinances to talk about with this Motion. We all need to be aware that we cannot have any backflow in our sprinkler systems or houses. As far as we know all residents have a backflow on their house. Jed will ask JD to come and explain more of this ordinance. We decided to pass the ordinances because if we have some changes to add we can do it later. Keith made the motion to accept the CROSS CONNECTION CONTROL POLICY. Bryan seconded the motion. The motion passed. Keith made the motion to accept the CROSS CONNECTION CONTROL ORDINANCE. Bryan seconded the motion. The motion passed.
4) FIRE FEES AND LANDFILL FEES? We aren't sure if this is going to go through. We talked about how this would affect the Town. When we find out if this is going to happen we will talk about it more.
5) PRINTER FOR OFFICE: We need to get some prices on the printer and make sure there is support for that printer.
6) JUNE 11TH REPRESENTATIVE OWENS WILL BE AT TOWN HALL AT 9:30: Just a notice so everyone is aware.
7) BUDGET: CHECK IT OUT: We discussed the BUDGET and all were ok with it. Bryan made the motion to accept the budget. Keith seconded the motion. The motion passed.
8) WATER REPORT: The Spring is doing good. We need to purchase a Chlorine scale. Jordan is working hard to get the Backflow Certificate and become Certified. There was a power outage in April and so we needed to call Andrew.
9) P&Z REPORT: not much to report right now. Ryan's have accomplish their dilemma with the fence. Richardson's have moved in and they have put T-posts around their yard, but no fencing right now. There is a tree on 100 East that is a problem and it needs to be cut back or cut down.
CITIZEN'S CONCERNS:
The Wall's are going to bury their parents, which are cremated, at the Cemetery on the 15th of June. They wanted to dig their own grave. The Town Clerk said that they could. We need to check the Cemetery Ordinance to find out if that is ok to let them dig their own grave. We have let people do it in the past.
Mason is doing a really good job at keeping things cleaned and mowed.
TOWN COUNCIL ITEMS:
JED BARTHOLOMEW, MAYOR: Office, Cemetery, Grants
BRYAN LYMAN: P&Z, Park, Weeds
MELISSA MELLOR: Newsletter, Animal Control, Water
RUSTY JONES: Cemetery, Website, Flags
KEITH BARTHOLOMEW: Emergency Preparedness, Celebrations, Fire
We need to include in the newsletter that if anyone is putting in a sprinkler system to let us know so we can make sure it has a Backflow on it.
Bryan is going to put a new fountain head on the faucet at the Park.
They need some help with putting in the pvc pipe for the Flags. They are doing it this Weekend.
