Date of Meeting: Tuesday 8/13/24 Venue: OSTA - Conference Room Time: 5:30pm to 6:30pm Call to Order/Open Meeting: Approval of minutes: June 11, 2024 Citizens to be heard: OSTA Assistant Director Report (Reported by Greg): Installation of gates at the entrance of the ballfield road and the admin parking lot. Summer fertilizer program was applied mid-July Toro Lawn mower is out of service and has been down for several weeks with broken pullies and belts. We had to rent a mower for the time being. Were hoping to get our mower back this week or next. New motors on swamp coolers required a call out for a professional HVAC for the adjustment of amps to bring the amp draw down so the motors would not over heat and shut off. Tree trimming throughout property Replacement of one men's urinal that was broken and a repair on a leaking toilet. Set up and full clean of the stage. The stage has been utilized frequently and was due for a deep clean with all hydraulic lines checked and properly greased. Installed pigeon spikes at the pavilion to help with the bird issue. Seems to be working, will be installing more. Clean-up from storm damage - dirt work, pressure washing, trash removal, camera repairs, roof removal, debris removal, etc. OSTA Director Report (Angie): Admin Roof update OSTA Storm update - damage report 2025 forecasted OSTA budget report Fire Suppression update (& RFB Status) & Culinary water line update We've added a new Community night to our list of activities! Line Dancing - Huge Success! Donation of chain-link fencing. They thought we would be able to use if for the archery range but it is not tall enough. We will be using it to enclose as much as possible of the east side of the property. Playground & Pickleball RFB status New waiver has been implemented and can be found at https://www.grandcountyutah.net/1301/Liability-Waiver Events: July- Grand County Fair, D's Adventures, Grand County Drill Team practice, Skate Moab (Multiple dates), Quinceanera (Indoor Arena), Free Concert Series (Stage), Open Ride (Indoor & Outdoor arena's - multiple dates). August- Canyonlands PRCA Rodeo meeting, Skate Moab (Multiple dates), Rec Board meeting & special meeting (Conf. Room), Retirement Party (Indoor Arena), Free Concert Series (Stage multiple rentals), Open Ride (Indoor & Outdoor arena's - multiple dates), Community Night (Line Dancing - Pavilion, Wednesday nights), Moab horse Expo (Indoor Arena & other locations), Quinceanera (Indoor Arena), Fall Soccer Practice & Games (practice daily, multiple games). Not to be forgotten, will discuss when updates are available: World Trail (need design+ sponsors / donation) Trail to be formalized by arena staff by adding reject gravel +Horse Obstacle Course Outdoor Arena - Maintenance and construction upgrade stage 1 of 3 (1 arena, 2 roping boxes & steer run, 3 Cover over arena, lights, bleachers, announcer's booth, wind breaks, and bucking chutes) 'Growing Pains' Need to source funding, out growing current set-up. Need more pens for rough stock, holding pen for broncs, additional pens at main arena. Implement Shed- Convention/Expo Hall- OSTA Development Master Plan- OSTA Emergency Operating Plan (EOP)- Completed attached for review. Board Member Reports: Kathy- Rex- Patrick- Bob- Krista- Jennifer- Mike- New Business: By-Laws (If available, Comm Admin are working on these) Review EOP & EAP Completed Attached for review Review of the 2024 Grand County Fair Review Grand County Fair budget 2024 & 2025 Review of Grand County Fair Board Resolution and By-Laws that will be presented at the August 20,2024 County Commission Meeting for approval.
