SALT LAKE CITY CORPORATION SALT LAKE CITY COUNCIL NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING PROPOSED TAX INCREASE SALT LAKE CITY LIBRARY NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT ON Tuesday, August 13, 2024, a public hearing will be held at 7:00 p.m. by the Salt Lake City Council to accept public comment and consider adopting one or more ordinances adopting the final rate of tax levy, for all City funds including the Library Fund, in an amount greater than the Certified Tax Rate, upon all real and personal property within Salt Lake City made taxable by law for Fiscal Year 2024-25 and adopting the final budget, including the Library Budget, for Fiscal Year 2024-25. - The SALT LAKE CITY LIBRARY tax on a $624,000 residence would increase from $183.96 to $221.71, which is $37.75 per year. - The SALT LAKE CITY LIBRARY tax on a $624,000 business would increase from $334.46 to $403.10, which is $68.64 per year. - If the proposed budget is approved, SALT LAKE CITY LIBRARY would increase its property tax budgeted revenue by 20.69% above last year's property tax budgeted revenue excluding eligible new growth. All concerned citizens are invited to a public hearing on the tax increase. To obtain more information regarding the tax increase, citizens may contact SALT LAKE CITY LIBRARY at 801-535-7600. All persons interested and present will be given an opportunity to be heard in this matter. This meeting will be held via electronic means, while also providing an in-person opportunity to attend or participate in the hearing at the City and County Building, located at 451 South State Street, Room 315, Salt Lake City, Utah.
