SALT LAKE CITY PLANNING DIVISION PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING AGENDA July 31, 2024 at 5:30 pm City & County Building 451 South State Street, Room 326 Salt Lake City, Utah 84111 (The order of the items may change at the Commission's discretion) This meeting will be held in person at the City & County Building. DINNER - Dinner will be served to the Planning Commissioners and Staff at 5:00 pm in room 326 of the City and County Building. During the dinner break, the Planning Commission may receive training on city planning related topics, including the role and function of the Planning Commission. PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING WILL BEGIN AT 5:30 PM IN ROOM 326 REPORT OF THE CHAIR AND VICE-CHAIR REPORT OF THE DIRECTOR APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES OPEN FORUM - The Commissioners may discuss planning, zoning, and general land use items that are not listed on the agenda. This discussion will be limited to no more than 10 minutes. There is no public discussion associated with this item. BRIEFINGS 1. 300 West Corridor & Central Pointe Station Area Plan (PUBLIC HEARING) - The Planning Commission will receive a second briefing from Design Workshop, the project consultant, and City Planning Staff, on the Salt Lake City Planning Division's 300 West Corridor & Central Pointe Station Area Plan draft. Draft plan content was previously presented to the Commission in March. The consultant has prepared a complete draft plan based on Planning Commission and public input. The Commission will hold a public hearing, but no recommendation will be made at this meeting. An additional public hearing and recommendation will follow at a later date. The plan will guide the future development and use of property in the area extending from 1700 South to 2100 South and from I-15 to West Temple in the Central Community planning area of Salt Lake City. Zoning Consolidation Project - The Planning Commission will be briefed on the proposal to consolidate the existing mixed use and commercial zones into new 'MU' zones. This briefing will include reviewing how the current parking regulations will be addressed in the proposed consolidation. Staff Reports will be posted the Friday prior to the meeting and minutes will be posted two days after they are ratified, which usually occurs at the next regularly scheduled meeting of the Planning Commission.
