AMENDED OFFICIAL NOTICE
RECOUNT
CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT 2 - 2024 PRIMARY ELECTION
I, Brian McKenzie, Davis County Clerk, hereby give notice of the recount of the Congressional District 2- 2024 Primary Election. This notice is given in anticipation and conditional on a formal request for recount.
Dates and times associated with this recount are provided as a best estimate, this is due to uncertainty of if or when a recount is requested. Specific times and dates of events may be subject to change, any change will be posted on the Davis County Clerk's online election calendar: https://www.daviscountyutah.gov/clerk/election/calendar
A pre-election test and audit will be conducted to verify the voting devices and tabulation equipment being used for the recount will accurately count votes cast for candidates in the 2nd congressional district. Anyone desiring to witness the testing is invited to attend. It is anticipated that this test will be held on July 30th, no earlier than 8am at the Davis County Administration Building Room #202.
It is anticipated that as early as July 30th one or more of the following ballot processes will be conducted: scanning ballots; adjudicating ballots; replicating damaged or defective ballots; tabulating votes and reexamining uncounted ballots.
Ballot processing will begin at approximately 8am on July 30th. Ballot processes will pause during the day for regular breaks, and for lunch and will continue until all ballots that can be processed have been processed or until 5:00pm. Ballot processing will resume the following business day.
A post-election audit will be conducted and will immediately follow the completion of the recount this is anticipated to take place the afternoon of July 31st, anyone desiring to witness the audit is invited to attend. The audit will be conducted at the Davis County Administration Building in Room # 202.
A Canvass of the recount shall be held following the Audit and is anticipated to be held on August 1st at 10am. The Canvass will be conducted at the Davis county Administration Building in the County Commission Chambers.
