Description/Agenda
**Public Input Needed on Draft Pre-Disaster Mitigation Plan**
Emery County is in the process of updating its Pre-Disaster Mitigation Plan (PDMP). The purpose of the plan is to help create a safer community for residents, businesses, and visitors. The PDMP allows public safety officials and local government staff, elected officials, and members of the public to understand the threats from natural and human-caused hazards in our community. The plan will also recommend specific actions to proactively decrease these threats before disasters occur and allow the County and local communities to apply for various mitigation grants from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).
Emery County released the draft plan for public review and is accepting comments through August 10, 2024. An email address and a public comment form is included on the web page https://EmeryHazardPlan.org/ to solicit public input in the planning process. Once the public input process is complete, the County will submit the Draft PDMP to FEMA for review and approval.
