The meeting was called to order by Scott Sabey. The board members were presented with the proposed budget for the upcoming fiscal year. Monika Schulthess was on the phone during this part of the meeting as the budget was discussed. Both the road grant and tourism grant were discussed that are large amounts in the budget. Sami Ellingford made the motion to approve the budget. Seiko Webb seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously.
Bart Jensen with Jones and DeMille Enginering who is helping us with the road grant had sent an email to Allie Deru that was seen just before the meeting started. The board had some questions so Tyler Stuart came over to provide more information about the next steps in the road grant. The town is going to publicly bid out the job to do the roads. The hope was that the town would be able to get the roads completed this year, but the time is running out to get all of the work done that is needed before they even start the roads. It is looking like it may be next summer but that gives the board time to get a company hired and everything straightened out. Allie Deru will be in contact with Bart Jensen on the next steps that the town will need to do. This will include signing agreements with Jones and DeMille for the engineering they will be doing and bidding out the job. The email from Bart Jensen stated that it will cost $50,136 for the Preconstruction and Construction Engineering services. Seiko Webb made the motion to approve this amount and move forward with Jones and DeMille completing the engineering services. Semi Ellingford seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously.
The 4th of July honoree is going to be Pat Eastman. Seiko will have a float in the parade that she will ride in. Hazer Hoffman is going to sell snow cones the evening of the 3rd and the 4th. The board discussed what concessions they want to sell at the 4th. The consensus was cotton candy, popcorn and drinks and maybe nachos. They are going to talk to Monika about doing churros. Allie Deru is going to work on getting a Venmo account set up to be used during the Homecoming Celebration.
Sami Ellingford said that she talked to Jared Davis about the water lines that are under the pavilion being built. There has been some concern about the location of the pavilion. Jared Davis said that he is not concerned with the pavilion over the water lines.
Seiko Webb made the motion to approve May minutes. Sami Ellingford seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. Sami Ellingford made the motion to approve the June bills. Seiko Webb seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously.
Mayor Sabey is going to look into getting a sound system for the town that can be used during the rodeo at the 4th of July celebration. There have been complaints in the past that the speakers have not been loud enough and the town board thought it would be good to invest in some of their own speakers and microphone. Mayor Sabey contacted his son-in-law who is knowledgeabout about sound equipment and he was going to help pick out what would be good for the town's needs.
There was a discussion about which side of the pavilion the storage area is going to be on. Mayor Sabey told the board that it is going to be on the Eastside.
Meeting was adjourned at 6:15 p.m.
