The Rich County Fire Warden, Travis Hobbs, came to speak with us abuot the Cooperative Wildfire System. The county has a wildfire system plan as well as each town in the county. It is like an insurance policy to help protect the town if there was a wildfire to start within town. The town of Woodruff needs to update this plan with the help of the board members, Mayor and Fire Chief. Travis Hobbs emailed the new template to Allie and it will need to be completed by July with accurate information.
Cody Christesen came to the meeting to seek approval from the town board to build a shed on his property by his house. One question he had was if he needed to be 20 or 40 feet from his property line. The consensus was that 20 feet would be good. The town approved his building permit.
Kaden Miner presented a new idea for the entertainment at our Homecoming Celebration for the 4th of July. In the past, the entertainment has been down at the rodeo grounds after the parade and before the rodeo. This is also at the same time as the kids games, etc. where there is an announcer. There seems to be a lot going on and makes each member feel like they are fighting for sound. The board discussed having the entertainment and dance the night before, on the 3rd this year. Kaden Miner is planning on inviting a couple other singers and some local entertainment as well. There was discussion about having more concessions during that time with different ideas such as cotton candy, churros, pretzels or some stuff like that which is different than has been done in the past. The board agreed that it was a good idea and more details will be pinned down closer to the celebration. The hope is that all of this can take place at our new pavilion that is going to be constructed down by the rodeo grounds.
Monika Schulthess told the board that Chris Schulthess has looked into getting a generator for the pumphouse in case we ever lose power up there. The board discussed using money out of the water fund for that. There was no decision made yet.
Monika Schulthess made the motion to approve the March bills. Sami Ellingford seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. Seiko Webb made the motion to approve February minutes. Monika Schulthess seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously.
The board has been looking at getting plans done for the pavilion and maybe getting a couple different bids. The location of the pavilion also needs to be discussed. Sami Ellingford is going to talk to Jason Peterson to draw up some plans for us. The board is planning on going to the rodeo grounds after board meeting to disucss more about the pavilion.
Meeting was adjourned at 6:45 p.m.
