EAGLE MOUNTAIN CITY NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARINGS The Eagle Mountain City Council will hold public hearings on June 18, 2024, at 7:00 PM or as soon thereafter as business allows, in the Eagle Mountain City Council Chambers, 1650 E Stagecoach Run, Eagle Mountain, Utah 84005. The City Council will receive public comments concerning the following items: - Eagle Mountain Municipal Code Amendments: o Title 16.35.090 & Title 17.60.120 (Residential Privacy Screening) A proposal to enact an ordinance amending Title 16.35.090 & Title 17.60.120 to clarify that: a) privacy screening, as required along collector and arterial classed roads, must be installed prior to issuance of building permits in a project where such abuts one of those road types; and, b) to clarify that residential subdivision screening along collector and arterial roads shall be the same as required for commercial developments in terms of materials and composition; and, c) to specify the kind of screening required along the Ranches Parkway. Eagle Mountain City Point of Contact: Robert Hobbs, rhobbs@emcity.org o New Title 17.61 and Amending Titles 17, Sections 60.120 & 15.80.050 (Retaining Walls) A proposal to enact an ordinance amending Title 17 by adding a new Chapter 61 regarding retaining walls, establishing basic construction standards governing the same and, revising Title 17 Section 60.120 to refer to the new Chapter 61 and deleting certain language in Title 15.80.050 pertaining to allowing walls in easements. Eagle Mountain City Point of Contact: Robert Hobbs, rhobbs@emcity.org o New Title 17.30 Historic Residential & Non-Residential Zones A proposal to enact an ordinance amending Title 17 by adding a new Chapter 30 relating to historic residential and non-residential zones, adding them back into Title 17 with some of their standards being made equivalent to some currently adopted zones' standards. Eagle Mountain City Point of Contact: Robert Hobbs, rhobbs@emcity.org - FY 2025 Budget Adoption: o State statute requires that the City Council hold a public hearing on the tentative budget and that the budget be adopted by June 30. The tentative budget was accepted by the City Council on May 7, 2024, and a public hearing was held on June 4, 2024. Another hearing will be held before the final adoption of the budget on June 18, 2024. The final budget and certified tax rate will be the document that governs the expenditures for Fiscal Year 2024-2025. Eagle Mountain City Point of Contact: Kimberly Ruesch, kruesch@emcity.org - Public Hearing on New School District: o Eagle Mountain City Council has entered into an Interlocal Agreement with the City of Saratoga Spring and the Town of Fairfield, with the written support of Cedar Fort, to begin the creation of a new school district pursuant to the provisions of Utah Code § 53G-3-301.4. In accordance with Utah Code § 53G-3-301.4(8)(a)(i), the City Council hereby provides for a 45-day public comment period to begin on May 21, 2024 and ending on July 5, 2024. Public Hearings are scheduled for June 13, 2024 at 6:00 pm and June 18, 2024 at 7:00 pm.
