Notice of Public Hearing on a Proposed Name Change of the South Valley Sewer District.
The Board of Trustees for the South Valley Sewer District hereby gives notice that it will hold a public hearing to receive public comment in regards to a change in the District's name on Tuesday, May 28th at 7:00 a.m. at the South Valley Sewer District Office, 1253 West Jordan Basin Lane, Bluffdale, Utah
Under consideration is a proposal to change the name of the District from South Valley Sewer District to Jordan Basin Improvement District. This change is to help eliminate confusion with our neighboring entity, South Valley Water Reclamation Facility, to reduce confusion surrounding South Valley Sewer District and Jordan Basin Water Reclamation Facility (JBWRF is owned and operated by SVSD), and to provide clarity and unity within the District. The District is following the process and procedure for such a change as outlined in the Utah Code 17B-1-105.
The District is holding this public hearing as required by State Code to receive public comment. In compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, persons needing communicative aids and services for the meeting should call the District at 801-571-1166 giving at least 48 hours advance notice of their needs.
