Meeting Minutes SANPETE CONSERVATION DISTRICT Monday, March 11, 2024 Time: 11:00 A.M. EPHRIAM CITY HALL -Basement LOCATION: Ephraim, Utah ATTENDANCE: SURPERVISORS: Mike Larson, Scott Sunderland, Bruce Christensen and Thomas Blackham CLERK: Magen Pike Utah Department of Agriculture and Food (UDAF): Tracy Balch, Zac Farmsworth Watershed: BreeAnn Bloomfield Natural Resource Conservation Services (NRCS): Wade Ingram CD Employee: Jason Krebs SUMMERY OF DISTRICT ACTIONS A) A motion to approve minutes from February 5, 2024. Pg. 1 B) A motion to approve meeting agenda for March 11, 2024. Pg. 1 C) A motion was made to bring any outstanding bills forward and be paid. Pg. 1 D) A motion was made for all purchases. Pg. 1 E) Motion to approve replaced hoses on equipment. Pg. 2 F) A motion was made to adjourn the Sanpete CD meeting. Pg. 2 SANPETE CD MEETING - CALL TO ORDER Mike Larson called the meeting to order at 11:00 a.m. Meeting Minutes: a) Approve of meeting minutes February 5, 2024. A motion was made by Bruce Christensen to approve, second by Scott Sunderland. b) Motion to approve agenda March 11, 2024 with additional changes. A motion was made by Bruce Christensen to approve, second by Scott Sunderland. Financial Business: c) A motion was made by Scott Sunderland to approve, second by Thomas Blackham to bring any outstanding bills/invoices before the board for consideration and discussion. a) Deposit: State of Utah reimbursement $3,063.11. b) Deposit: Tree deposit $100.00. c) Equipment gas Thomas Service $54.00. d) Gift ACE Hardware $48.03, Arby's gift card $50.00. e) CD Contract to pay Clerk for March $250. f) A motion made by Thomas Blackham to approve, second by Scott Sunderland to pay all bills/ invoices. Board Business: Board Members a) Utah Water User Conference March 18-20, 2024 in St. George, Utah b) Zone Meeting on March 5th, 2024 updates: a. Look for more projects in the Sanpete/Sanpitch areas. b. Water storage project ideas. c. Find projects that are currently being worked on. (Need boots on the ground shelve ready). d. Come up with finding funds, grants taxes, etc. c) Sanpete Conservation District Nomination commitment forms due 4/8/2024. d) Thank you letter to NACD Conservation February 2025 Salt Lake City. UDAF Business: Tracy Balch a) Tree Program 300 trees sold so far. Sanpete received about $1,000.00 dollars so far. Mid-April will be tree delivery. b) Went over the different grants and loans for future projects. c) Upcoming board members up for nomination Scott Mower, Thomas Blackham, and Bruce Christensen. Watershed Business: BreeAnn Bloomfield a) Watershed Meeting 4/4/2024 at 6pm for Sanpete. b) South West Farms project and Funds. NRCS Business: Wade a) Zac Farms Worth Natural Resource Coordinator b) Funding: 5.3 million funds for the team, $200,000 for EQUIP, Climate Smart funds, IRA funding. c) CSP 35 to 40 application currently. ARDL Business: JP Contreras a) Closed on applications b) Taking a closer look at the water rights. CD Employee Business: Jason Krebs a) Report on Soil Health Field days at Snow College 2/21/2024. b) Working with producers on applications. c) Motion to replaced hoses on equipment by Scott Sunderland and second by Thomas Blackham. CD Other Business: Katie a) Katie is a Geologist gathering water data. She is measuring wells in the Sanpete area. She need help from the CD to find new and old wells to measure. A motion was made to adjourn the meeting made by Scott Sunderland and second by Thomas Blackham meeting at 1:30 p.m. The next Sanpete CD meeting will be April 12, 2024 at 11:00 am.
