NOTICE OF VACANCY SANPETE COUNTY WATER CONSERVANCY DISTRICT BOARD
1. Notice of Vacancies: positions on the Sanpete County Water Conservancy District Board have become vacant.
2. Description of the, Sanpete County Water Conservancy District: Sanpete County Board of Commissioners created the Sanpete County Water Conservancy District in 1961 for the purposes enumerated in secton4, Chapter 9, Title 73, Utah Code Annotated 1953, as amended, to-wit: conserving, developing, and stabilizing supplies of water for domestic, irrigation, power, manufacturing, municipal, and other beneficial uses as contemplated in said act.
3. Board Duties: Sanpete County Water Conservancy Board holds meetings quarterly or as needed to for conserving, developing, and stabilizing supplies of water for domestic irrigation, power manufacturing, municipal and other beneficial uses.
4. Appointing Authority: The appointing authority for the positions is the Sanpete County Commission.
5. General Qualifications: Must reside within Sanpete County and within the district of representation. All Board seats are divided into seven Division or Districts and each District should have one director. District 1 North part of Mt. Pleasant, Fairview, Milburn, Indianola. District 2, South part of Mt. Pleasant, Spring City. District 3, Fountain Green, Moroni, Wales, Chester, Freedom. District 4; Ephraim. District 5; Manti. District 6; Sterling, Mayfield, Centerfield, Axtell. District 7; Gunnison, Fayette.
6. Term: The appointment will be for four (4) or (2) years. Members may serve additional terms as determined to be in the best interests of the District.
7. Appointment Procedure: All applicants must either obtain and complete a written application for appointment available at the Sanpete County Clerk's Office at 160 North Main Ste. #202, Manti, Utah 84642 or submit an alternative application. The deadline for receiving applications is Tuesday, April 30, 2024 at 5 p.m. The contact person at Sanpete County is County Clerk Linda Christiansen (435-835-2131 ext.223). The applications and qualifications will be reviewed and considered for appointment at the County Commission meeting scheduled for Tuesday, May 7, 2024 (To verify agenda time contact the County Clerk's Office at (435) 835-2131 ext.5.) The County Commission will allow interested parties to be heard at the meeting.
