INVITATION for BIDS Naples City is soliciting bids for Chip Seal and road maintenance on 1500 South between 2000 East and 3500 East. This project will repair roadway soft spots, roto mill a stretch of roadway and lay new asphalt on a portion of the project. The project area will be chip sealed with the anticipation that a GM-RSS oil will be used in the project. Striping will be adjusted to accommodate a pedestrian lane on the north side of the roadway. The Contractor will be responsible for the removal for maintenance and construction of roadway to include an area of asphalt surface for maintenance of soft spot, the repair of a bus turn-around area, Roto milling of approximately 3500 sq yards of bituminous surface and resurfacing that segment of roadway with an asphalt surface. The Project will also require shoulder widening to accommodate pedestrian walkway, and the placement of a chip seal on the project. Project will include bid alternate items that will be chose based on the availability of funds. This work shall consist of furnishing all labor, material, and equipment necessary to perform all operations for the maintenance of the specified roadway. An approved traffic control plan will be required. Construction shall be completed before October 15, 2024 but limited to 90 calendar days of construction from notice to proceed, unless an arrangement can be met to satisfy Naples City. It is expected that traffic delays and road closures will be needed during this project. A pre-bid tour will be held on April 9th, 2024, at 10:00 a.m., leaving from the office of the Owner at 1420 E. 2850 S. Naples, UT 84078. Attendance at the pre-bid tour is requested, but not Required. Bidder must be able to provide their insurance policy, W-9 form, business license, and workers compensation documentation upon request. Contractor will be required to obtain the necessary Road Encroachment permit from Naples City. Sealed bids will be accepted until 4:00 PM April 18, 2024 by mail or delivery to Naples City, 1420 East 2850 South Naples, UT 84078. Proposals must be in a sealed envelope and labeled '1500 South Road Improvement Project 2024'. Late bids will not be accepted. Bids will be opened at 4:00 PM and held for evaluation by the city, and authorization of the City Council. Naples City reserves the right to accept or deny any or all bids and waive any information or technicality on any proposal in the interest of the City and their decision will be final.
