Attendance: Mayor Max Huggins, Council Member Tyson Nelson, Councilmember Mariah Huggins, Councilmember Bell, Councilmember Britt, Clerk Gina Marble, Treasurer Allison Huggins
Visitors: Norma Lasa, Susan Bell, Martina John, Braden Huggins
Mayor Huggins called the meeting to order.
Opening Ceremony
Pledge: Councilmember Britt Prayer: Councilmember Nelson
Susan Bell reported 8800 West has no gravel on the road.
1. Review and approve minutes of the Jan 10, 2024 Council meeting.
I'll make a motion to approve the minutes from Jan 10, 2024 by Councilmember Huggins. Seconded by Councilmember Nelson. All aye. Motion approves.
2. Review and approval of Jan 10, 2024-Feb 14,2024 Bills and Payroll.- Councilmember's looked over the bills and payroll.
I'll make a motion to approve Bills and Payroll for Jan 10, 2024-Feb 14, 2024 by Councilmember Nelson. Seconded by Councilmember Huggins. All aye. Motion approves.
3. Review financial reports, bank reconciliations, and Water adjustments or write-offs. The council reviewed the reports.
4. Mayor Huggins reported we have little kids in town driving a go cart around. I talked to them and their parents and told them to slow down, when the kids get out of parents view they speed. I talked to Mr. Poppy and to a deputy. If the deputy enforces it, he will have to enforce it for everyone in town. We have kids that ride side by side that are doing chores or helping their parents that don't speed. We had a couple of dog issues in town. Commissioner Moore will be at Elwood town hall on the 21 between 5-6 pm for anyone that wants to meet him or have questions. Brian from BRAG went to the planning commission meeting he reported on grants.
5. Councilmember Nelson reported on water-We have some addition upgrades, the state is making us due. The backup power to the chlorinator and an automatic switch for the chlorinator. We did some general updates on some wire. Katherine has her water cert from the state. We are completely compliant with the State.
6-Road Update-Mayor Huggins reported he fixed the lights on the snowplow.
7-.Planning Commission report-Councilmember Bell reported they are working on the general plan and working on 107.
8-Park Update-Councilmember Huggins reported the roof on the building is done we are just waiting on the final inspection. Councilmember Huggins reported we will be doing reservations for the park this year.
9-Councilmember Huggins reported Easter is on March 31 this year, i think the Easter egg hunt should be on March 30,2024 at 10:00. Last year we had around 150 kids we I think we will have around the same this year. We will do age groups 0-3, 4-6, 7-9 and 10 and over. We will have prizes or money for the older kids and maybe some golden eggs. I think it will be around $400 for the egg hunt this year.
I'll make a motion to approve Bills $400 for the egg hunt this year by Councilmember Huggins. Seconded by Councilmember Bell. All aye. Motion approves.
Sheriff Department- Nothing to report.
Fire Department- Nothing to report.
I'll make a motion to adjourn by Councilmember Nelson. Seconded by Councilmember Huggins. All aye. Motion approves.
