Description/Agenda
The University of Utah is proposing increasing tuition between 2.45% - 4.5% and increasing general student fees by 1.65% for the 2024-25 school year. The tuition increase means a full-time resident student taking 15 credit hours will pay approximately $111.51 - $204.81 more per semester. The general student fee increase is approximately $9.75 more per semester. Separately, there are proposed tuition adjustments in the David Eccles School of Business. The David Eccles School of Business (DESB) is proposing an adjustment to its undergraduate differential tuition structure for the 2025-2026 academic year, aimed at creating a balanced tuition structure for their students. This proposal includes a reduction of upper division differential by approximately $67 per credit hour from $269.28 to $202 per credit hour and introducing a lower division differential at $202 per credit hour. The total impact does not result in an increase when considering the total cost across 4 years. A full-time undergraduate student taking 15 credit hours in DESB will pay $3,030 in differential tuition per semester in the 2025-2026 academic year. For graduate students in the Executive MBA, DESB is proposing an increase of approximately 7.4% in tuition per year for the next two years. A graduate student in the Executive MBA taking 10 credit hours will pay $1,300 more per semester in the 2024-2025 academic year and $1,400 more per semester in the 2025-2026 academic year. For graduate students in the Professional and Online MBA, DESB is proposing an increase of approximately 7.4% in tuition per year for the next two years. A graduate student in the Professional MBA or Online MBA taking 8 credit hours will pay $800 more per semester in the 2024-2025 academic year and $856 more per semester in the 2025-2026 academic year. All students and community members are invited to attend the University of Utah's truth in tuition hearing. To improve access and provide a recording for a larger audience, the University of Utah will offer an online hearing this year.
