Petition to Nominate Candidates for Appointments to the
Local Conservation Districts (CD) Board of Supervisors

In accordance with section 17D-3-302 of Utah Code, the Commissioner of the Utah Department of Agriculture and Food (UDAF) appoints supervisors to serve on each of the 38 Local Conservation Districts (CD) around the state of Utah. A nominating committee is formed consisting of the chair of the county council/commission, the chair of the FSA county council, the CD chair and the agricultural extension service representative. In accordance with section 17D-3-304, if an individual wishes to be nominated, a petition must be filed with UDAF in order for a candidate to serve on the board of supervisors for their Local Conservation District. A petition shall include the following:
- The candidate's Name
- The candidate is at least 18 years old; and
- The candidate for appointment is a resident of the Conservation District for which the nomination for candidacy is to be held; and
- Contain the notarized signature of the candidate.
All candidates who wish to petition to be placed on the list of nominees need to submit their petition to UDAF before April 8, 2024. The Department shall forward all petitions received to the nominating committee for consideration. All petitions can be mailed or emailed to UDAF.
