Welcome to today's legislative discussion. Please know we appreciate the participation of each
of you as experts from community agencies and government entities. Our collaborative focus is
to improve Utah's response to all those impacted by crime. We encourage respectful and civil
conversations as we engage in constructive examination and comprehensive discussion on
2024's legislative bills. It is an exciting time where the historical influence of the Crime Victims
Council and the fresh perspective of the newly formed Victim Services Commission can come
together to fully discuss issues in a concurrent effort to elevate victim services in Utah.
