Notice is hereby given that the Tooele City Historic Preservation Commission will meet on Wednesday, December 6, 2023 at the hour of 3:30 P.M. The Meeting will be held at Tooele City Hall in the upstairs Large Conference Room, located at 90 N Main Street, Tooele, Utah. Participants may also join virtually on Microsoft Teams at the link provided.
1. 3:30 PM - Roll Call
2. Review and approval of April meeting minutes
3. Landmark Ordinance - Review draft landmark ordinance & discuss process and involvement by the Historic Preservation Commission.
4. Review and discuss the Tooele Valley Museum Strategic Improvement Plan.
a. Includes a list of needed improvements, goals & strategies, and a mission/vision. Goals include:
i. Preserve, protect, and restore historic characteristics.
ii. Market, educate, and improve the experience of the public.
iii. Document and organize artifacts.
5. Other Commission discussion items:
a. Historic site plaques (process and top priorities)
b. Historic Tooele website (feedback, priorities, etc.)
c. Broadway/Newtown (storytelling, needs, etc.)
6. CLG Grant - Upcoming grant submission deadlines. Discuss priorities and possible projects. Make recommendations to Tooele City based on discussion.
a. $10,000 from SHPO with a $10,000 match from Tooele City = Budget of $20,000.
