NOTICE OF ELECTION 2024 REGULAR GENERAL ELECTION I, Anneliesa Peart, County Clerk/Auditor of Rich County, Utah, in accordance with Utah Code Annotated 20A-5-101, do hereby notify County Residents that: 1. attached is a list of the offices to be filled at the regular general election to be held in the State of Utah on Tuesday, November 5, 2024; 2. attached is a list of filing fees; 3. the Declaration of Candidacy filing period for qualified political party candidates begins on Tuesday, January 2, 2024 and ends at 5:00 p.m., Monday, January 8, 2024; 4. the Declaration of Candidacy filing period for local board of education candidates begins on Tuesday, January 2, 2024 and ends at 5:00 p.m., Monday, January 8, 2024; 5. the Declaration of Candidacy filing period for registered political party candidates begins on Tuesday, January 2, 2024 and ends at 5:00 p.m., Monday, April, 29, 2024. 6. the Declaration of Candidacy filing period for justices and judges of a court of record begins Monday, July 1, 2024 and ends at 5:00 p.m., Monday, July 15, 2024; 7. the Declaration of Intent to Gather Signatures period for qualified political party candidates begins on Tuesday, January 2, 2024 and ends at 5:00 p.m. on January 8, 2024. 8. Qualified political party candidates must submit nomination petition signatures no later than 14 days before the day on which the qualified political party holds its convention to select candidates for the elective office. 9. Registered political party candidates must submit nomination petition signatures no later than April 1, 2024. Anneliesa Peart Rich County Clerk/Auditor 1. FEDERAL a. U.S. President and Vice President. These positions will be elected for a four (4) year term. b. U.S Senate. One (1) Senator for a six (6) year term. c. U.S. House of Representatives. One Representative for a two (2) year term in the following U.S. Congressional District: i. First District. The First Congressional District consists of Box Elder, Cache, Morgan, Rich, and Weber Counties as well as portions of Davis, Salt Lake, and Summit Counties. 2. STATE a. State Executive. The following positions will be elected for a four (4) year term: i. Governor ii. Lieutenant Governor iii. Attorney General iv. State Auditor v. State Treasurer b. State Senate. One member for a four (4) year term from the following state senate district: i. District Two (2) is located in portions of Cache and Rich Counties. c. State House of Representatives. One member of the Utah House of Representatives for a two (2) year term from the following state legislative district: i. District Four (4) is located in Rich County and portions of Morgan and Summit. 3. LOCAL a. Board of Education. One member for a four (4) year term from each of the following local school board districts: i. Local School Board # 1 ii. Local School Board # 2 iii. Local School Board # 5 4. JUDICIAL a. Supreme Court. There will be a retention election for one (1) Supreme Court Judge, provided that the incumbent whose term is expiring files during the filing period. b. Court of Appeals. There will be a retention election for one (1) Court of Appeals Judges, provided that the incumbent whose term is expiring files during the filing period. c. District Court. There will be a retention election for District Court Judges in the following district, provided that the incumbent(s) whose term is expiring files during the filing period: i. First District. Two (2) Judges in the First Judicial District, which consists of Box Elder, Cache, and Rich Counties. d. Juvenile Court. There will be a retention election for Juvenile Court Judges in the following district, provided that the incumbent(s) whose term is expiring files during the filing period: i. First District. One (1) Judge in the First Judicial District, which consists of Box Elder, Cache, and Rich Counties. e. Justice Court. There will be a retention election for one (1) Justice Court Judge in Rich County. 5. COUNTY a. County. The following positions will be elected for a four (4) year term: i. County Commissioner C ii. County Treasurer iii. County Recorder iv. County Assessor 2024 Filing Fees a. U.S. President $500.00 b. U. S. Vice President $500.00 c. U.S. Senate $1355.00 d. U.S. House of Representatives $485.00 e. Governor $964.50 f. Lieutenant Governor $873.05 g. Attorney General $918.78 h. State Auditor $873.05 i. State Treasurer $873.05 j. Utah State Senate $116.05 k. Utah House of Representatives $83.02 l. Court of Record Judge of Justice $50.00 m. County Offices $50+0.00125 x term x annual salary n. Justice Court Judge $25.00 for each Judicial office o. Local Board of Education $50.00
