- NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON A PROPOSED RATE INCREASE FOR THE SOUTH VALLEY SEWER DISTRICT The Board of Trustees for the South Valley Sewer District hereby gives notice that it will hold a public hearing to receive public comment in regards to an increase in sanitary sewer charges on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at 6 p.m. at the South Valley Sewer District Office, 1253 West Jordan Basin Lane, Bluffdale, Utah Under consideration is a proposal to increase monthly sanitary sewer charges beginning January 1, 2024 from $25.00 per month to $30.00 per month for residential customers, increase the base fee for commercial customers from $25.00 to $30.00 for the first 6,630 gallons and from $1.51 to $3.77 per thousand gallons thereafter, and an increase from $18.90 to $22.68 for the first unit and $18.31 to $21.97 for each additional unit for multi-family units. Also under consideration are increases to various administrative and development fees, as well as updated cost estimates for construction bond calculations. The reason for the proposed rates and fees is to cover the District's increased costs associated with each of the fees. All interested persons appearing will be heard. In compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, persons needing communicative aids and services for the meeting should call the District at 801-571-1166 giving at least 48 hours advance notice of their needs. A copy of the rate study will be available for public inspection at the District office at least (14) days prior to the date of the public hearing.
