Minutes:
Sheri started the meeting. Paul motioned to accept the minutes from May. Linda seconded the motion and it passed.
Review and approval of the amendment of a minor subdivision. The commission discussed the proposal of some land being subdivided into a minor subdivision on Continental street. The land in question belongs to the Berniece Perkins family. The surveyor has marked all the corners of the property. Utilities have been put into both properties. They have met all requirements for a subdivision. All appropriate signatures have been obtained as well. Bret asked if anyone had any questions or concerns. Paul inquired about the housing that would go on the lots. Bret explained that there is an existing house on one lot and a trailer has been on the other lot for a lot of years. The trailer has been pulled off the lot and they have x amount of time to put a trailer back on the same lot. Byron made a motion to amend Continental subdivision #2 to lot 7a and lot 7b. Paul seconded the motion. The motion passed.
Review and discuss how to proceed with the general plan. Bret told the commission about where they are in the process of updating the general plan. He explained that it is a living document. He discussed the budget for the general plan. He hopes that the commission can look at it soon and give their input on it. He suggested that the commission may schedule a work meeting to do so. Bret said that so far there has been a proposal for 3 or 4 different commercial zones. Bret advised that he doesn't see the need for that many commercial zones for the size of Blanding. More zones and more people with different opinions can complicate the development process. But he wants the commission to look at it and think about it and express their own opinions about it and what they think will work best. Bret advised that the general plan should be wrapped up by the end of the year. Bret also advised the commission that Travis Shumway bought the old church on 400 west and there is potential for Travis to be at our next meeting wanting to discuss that building. Right now it is in a residential zone. The group had a general discussion about property and zoning allowances.
Paul moved to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Linda. Meeting adjourned at 6:42pm.
