Town of Leeds 218 North Main Street PO Box 460879 Leeds, UT 84746-0879 Phone: 435-879-2447 Fax: 435-879-6905 Website: www.leedstown.org Official Notice To: All Concerned Parties Subject: Disqualification of Jodi McGregor's Candidacy Date: September 14, 2023 It has come to the attention of the Electoral Commission that the candidacy of Jodi McGregor in the upcoming election has been disqualified due to her official residency parcel falling outside the established territorial limits of the Town of Leeds. After a thorough review of candidate eligibility and residency requirements, 20A-9-203, it has been determined that Ms. Jodi McGregor does not meet the residency criteria for candidacy within the jurisdiction of Town of Leeds. In light of this disqualification, we would like to inform all interested parties that write-in candidates are still being accepted for the upcoming election until 5:00 PM on September 18th, 2023. All prospective write-in candidates must meet the necessary eligibility and residency requirements as set forth by the electoral regulations. We encourage all eligible residents who wish to participate in the democratic process to consider becoming a write-in candidate or supporting one who meets the necessary qualifications. Thank you for your attention to this matter, and we remain committed to ensuring a fair and transparent electoral process for all residents of Leeds. Dated this Fourteenth day of September 2023. _______________________________________ Aseneth Steed, Clerk/Recorder Write-in deadline Any eligible person wishing to run as a write-in for the 2023 election must file their declaration of candidacy by Monday, September 18th at 5PM. 20A-9-601(1)(a) Municipal candidates must come into their municipal recorder's office in person while prospective candidates for Congressional District 2 must appear in person at the office of the Lt. Governor. Attached is a sample write-in form. The process is basically the same as it was for the original declaration of candidacy period. You must affirmatively tell the candidate that their name will NOT appear on the ballot. Write-in candidates may also submit a candidate profile on vote.utah.gov. Town hall will be open until 5pm Monday September 14, 2023
