They need to be done when the weather is cooler. The second step will be the seal coat, which needs to be done in warmer weather. There will be no extra cost to the town for the job needing to be done in two steps. This project is funded through the state with funds they give to towns to help with the upkeep of the roads. The fire district will be paying for half the cost of the fire station parking lot.

In reference to the water project, questions have been raised as to can we use local contractors to do the work. Mayor Fox talked with Fillmore City how they handle this type of work. They will put the job out for bid. When the bids are received if there is a local company with the lowest bid, or if another company has a lower bid, they ask the local company if they will do the job in matching the amount of the lowest bid. If yes and the local company meets the state requirements, they are given the job.
