Description/Agenda
Holden Town Meeting March 8, 2023 Start - 8:00 PM - End 8:40 PM There were no physical minutes from last meeting. Review of bills - Motion: Josalyn In favor - Josalyn, Jim, Darren, Phil, Dave Planning and Land Use - The month was one where they had planning and land use the week after the town council look for the information next month. Water - Phil Vote on Willowstick coming and reviewing the places that the Dobsons felt comfortable with. Right next to the road, we need Willowstick to come back and check out the spot they are looking at. In favor - Josalyn, Jim, Darren, Phil, Dave Discussion of replacing main lines that are lead, and the town is responsible for any lead contamination right up to the house. We need to have a replacement of the lead pipes in town. We are unsure of how much the state will fund, as it is a state mandated action. Most of our lines in Holden are already plastic. The older homes are more at risk of potential lead contamination. Discussion of what we would do if we needed to put an emergency announcement out of water contamination. Fire Department - Parking lot of the south side of the fire house, Rod is fixing it. They are working on having the fire district pick up half the cost of fixing it. There is also a spot at the post office that will need to be taken care of as well. County Fire Marshall - Put some of our volunteer firefighters through the first aide process. Dane Stephenson - Was concerned about us keeping fire fighters that volunteer for Holden, in Holden. Darren - Fire department helps when it makes sense. Roads - Jim Review of fixing of the roads. Kern River has given us a 6 months payment, that will be paid ahead to the landfill. We appreciate the partnership with the company. It is beneficial for the town. Josalyn - Parks Easter Egg Hunt - April 3rd at 6pm Dave - Electric The raise in rates are hopefully temporary and we will think about keeping a small increase after we go back down to plan ahead and cover us when power does go up. Nothing massive, but enough just to give us a good cushion. We are in a waiting period for the next nine months to see where the prices go. Leigh is still working on his annexation process. They are working getting it taken care of when they are ready. 6 county will be in holden on 3/10 at 10:15 - discussion of services they provide. Adjournment - Phil Proposed In favor - Josalyn, Jim, Darren, Phil, Dave
