Clerk: Allie Deru
Ute asphalt rep - Jim
Jim, a representative from Ute Asphalt, was at the beginning of our meeting to discuss details about having them re-do the parking lot in front of the town hall. He is going to get the board a quote and then it will be decided whether the town will go forward with it or not.
The board discussed the town's short term rental ordinance. Monika Schulthess brought a rough draft that Randolph uses for the board to look over. It was read in depth, with a few small changes. They are going to go forward with this ordinance and work on getting it finalized hopefully in the next month.
Michael Hansen and Kendall Welch sent a working draft for the subdivision ordinance. Monika is going to contact them to discuss what the town needs to do next. They said they would be willing to help us with that.
The town website is working. There are some links on there already but more stuff needs to be added. Monika and Allie are setting a time to do the training for that.
There was a discussion about allowing electric fences around town for horses and other animals to graze. The board discussed a potential grazing ordinance for the town. It was decided that there will not be one put in place.
Raymond Frandsen received quotes for cutting down the two dead trees at the park as well as trimming up the trees in from of Jared Huffaker's house on Main Street. Scott is going to call Rocky Mountain Power to see if they would potentially share the cost with us since it is close to a power line. The board agreed that it would be a good idea to get them cut down.
Monika Schulthess made the motion to approve the July bills. Raymond Frandsen seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. Monika Schulthess made the motion to approve May minutes. Braydon Deru seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously.
A new culvert is on the way to replace the one where the road was cut out by Dale Stacey and Tyler Walker's houses. It was delayed in shipping so the board is looking to get that done as soon as possible. The town board decided to bid out the old culverts that were there because there had been people interested in them.
Mayor Sabey asked the board for approval to pay Allie Deru for the time that she spends working on grants, because of the extra amount of time spent on top of the general clerk duties. Allie is going to keep track of her hours spent on grants.
The board reviewed the 4th of July. Everyone felt like it went really well and was overall a success. There were some suggestions for improvements next year. We potentially need more help (or different help) in the burger shack as well as attendants watching the bouncy houses to help control the kids bouncing on the sides and not treating them well. We also discussed setting up a Venmo account that people can pay through mainly for tickets and burgers. It was suggested that $7 is a hard number for tickets when dealing with cash back but maybe with Venmo, the town wouldn't have to worry about that as much. We need to print more programs next year. A big issue this year was over what 'help' at the rodeo got a free burger or free entry into the rodeo. The board and rodeo committee will focus on figuring out a better system for that next year so that hopefully relieve some of the confusion over who gets free stuff and who doesn't.
Meeting was adjourned at 8:00 p.m.
