In attendance: Keven Jensen, Brad Walker, Larry Johansen, Tiffani Baker, Ren Hatt,
Maria Sykes, Robin Hunt, Travis Bacon, AnnDee Mead, Kasey Edgehouse, Emily Wear,
Emily Mills, Katie Nelson, youth from SEUJR Club, Emery High Rodeo Club, Carbon High
Rodeo Club and USU-Eastern Rodeo Club.
Conducting and Welcome: Chairman - Commissioner Keven Jensen
1. Approval of Minutes: Discuss/Approve/Deny June Meeting Minutes Maria made
motion, Ren seconded. Approved
2. Discuss/Approve/Deny: Melon Days as a large event Ren motioned to approve for
$5000 for a Large Event. Second Travis. Approved.
3. Discuss/Approve/Deny: Outlaw Days as a large event. Ren made a motion to
approve it as a large event for $5000.Travis seconded. Approved.
4. Discuss/Approve/Deny: Millsite Golf Tournaments as a large event Kasey shared
about the event. Kasey thanked the board/travel for the support. Millsite is doing great,
they have seen a huge spike in playing. Events have been a big part of this. The
tournament in June went really well. Many people are coming and staying from what
they can see. AnnDee shared that Amanda is in full support of this agenda item. Also
shared pictures of logo golf balls. Ren made a motion to approve Travis second.
Approved.
5. Discuss/Approve/Deny: Support of Special Needs Rodeo. AnnDee shared the letter
and what the event is/the ask. Youth members of each club shared about the rodeo.
Club members are really excited about the events and sharing their lifestyle. Maria
approved up to $1,500. Seconded by Travis. Approved.
6. Ratify use of TRT funds to purchase Speed Limit Road Signs as tourism
mitigation. Keven shared a commission approved to buy five signs to start working on
this and see if there is a benefit. The locations will be Cleveland and Lawrance and a
portable one to start out with. We hope to see how these go and then budget in the fall
to continue this project. Travis motioned to approve ratification. Ren Second.

7. Discuss/Approve/Deny Renewal with Go Travel/Go-Utah.com Discussion about the
benefit of go-utah.com. Maria motioned to approve. Ren seconded. Approved.
8. Discuss Reports of the Following:
a. Event Coordinator: AnnDee shared Amanda recap of the last month. Three big
events coming up back to back with the Fair, Battle Royale, and Catfish on the
Green! For the County Fair Amanda was able to put the full page ad for if they
have an idea for an event they'd like to bring here to reach out, as well as our
logo on the Teen Night page and the schedule that will be hung in 40 locations
around the County. The Heritage Days festivities were a huge success, as well
as the Chamber/Warriorz golf tournament. (They ended up with 19 teams). I also
spoke with Nathan Martinez in Green River about support for their upcoming golf
tournaments and disc golf tournaments. He also asked about support for
expanding their disc golf course and plans on reaching out to AnnDee for further
discussion. Robin shared that she is working on fall events.
b. Marketing: AnnDee shared that the new logo/campaign/brand has gone live on
social media, shared what Facebook and Instagram look like now. Also shared
that we are working on banners for events to hang up with the Life Energized
logo.
c. Museums: In June MSR had over 500 visitors. They are seeing some
international visitors again. The staff at MSR are hard at work on the Paranormal
con. They have worked with Castle Dale City to provide porta potties as they
plan for more participants. JWP is still seeing less visitation than last year but
income is up. JWP is working on planning River Runners Hall of Fame in
September. In October they are hosting some Author Presentations. In
November they are considering a celebration for the Glen Canyon Exhibit
opening.
d. State Parks: State Parks survived the 4th of July. No major incidents.
Campgrounds are full. They are full almost everyday. Everything is going really
well. New staff is going well. Discussion about solar eclipse.
e. Trail's: No meeting was held in July for trails. Jim and the trail crew have been
working with the Forest Service a lot this past month.
f. Grants: Backcountry Horsemen were able to build the bridge on the Josephite
trail which was a part of their 2022 Swell Trails Grant and have requested the first
half of their 2023 grant money.
g. Financials: Discussion about what the board hopes to see as far as financials in
future meetings
